Make Plans to Attend the Kentuckiana Crop Production Seminar -

The AgriBusiness Association of Kentucky (ABAK), the Agribusiness Council of Indiana (ACI), and the Kentucky CCA Program invite you to attend the 25th annual Kentuckiana Crop Production Seminar scheduled for December 2-3, 2008 at the Executive Inn hotel in Evansville, Indiana. The Kentuckiana Seminar has been organized by representatives from Purdue University and the University of Kentucky, along with members of the ACI, ABAK and the Kentucky CCA Program.

 

The Seminar begins the morning of Tuesday, December 2 and runs until late afternoon on Wednesday, December 3. All program times are Central Standard Time Zone. There are opportunities to earn CEUs for Certified Crop Advisers as well as Indiana and Kentucky pesticide credits.

 "Serving Kentucky Agriculture" Minimize

The Agribusiness Association of Kentucky (ABAK) is an organization established to provide a strong voice in support of Kentucky agriculture. Its members are in the business of supplying “inputs” for agriculture production throughout the state. ABAK members are primarily engaged in the sale and manufacture of fertilizer, agricultural chemicals, seeds, feed and equipment, as well as the provision of related services, required to sustain and grow Kentucky’s agricultural economy.

Ammonium Nitrate Registration Bill Signed Into Law -

The Secure Handling of Ammonium Nitrate Act of 2007 (H.R. 1680/ S. 1463) was signed into law by President Bush on December 26, 2007. The ammonium nitrate security bill will create a uniform, federal registration and tracking system for ammonium nitrate fertilizer and will create a regulatory system that requires all ammonium nitrate facilities and purchasers to register with DHS. All registrations are to be checked against the terrorist watch list. Facilities are required to maintain sales records for two years, this information would include the purchaser's name, address, phone and registration numbers as well as the amount of product sold and date.
